This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine has a special interview with Persona 5 Royal staff, and it’s been revealed that Daiki Itoh who was previously Persona 5’s Confidant Planner will direct Persona 5 Royal.
Prior to his new role as Persona 5 Royal director, Daiki Itoh was the lead confidant planner for Persona 5. He was also the director for Persona 4 Golden, the 2012 PS Vita port of Persona 4.
The interview also features producer Kazuhisa Wada who was previously produced Persona 3 & 5 Dancing, held the role of producer and director for Persona 4: Arena and chief designer for Persona 4, Persona 3, Persona 3 FES, Catherine, and more.
The interview also includes character designer Shigenori Soejima who was the character designer for the original Persona 5.
Persona 5 Royal releases in Japan on October 31, 2019 for PlayStation 4. The game releases in the West in 2020. Check our previous report for the latest trailer and info. We’ll have more details from the interview when it becomes available later.
