We haven’t heard much about the Western release of Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, but the latest financial report from Koei Tecmo confirmed that it is still coming to North America and Europe. [Thanks, Persona Central.]
In Koei Tecmo’s financial report for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2021, we got an updated look at the company’s titles scheduled for release. It shows Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers listed for PS4 and Switch under the physical releases section. Moreover, it has North America and Europe listed under the regions section. Unfortunately, it doesn’t list a release window, so we’ll have to wait a little longer.
This is an update from Koei Tecmo’s financial report of the fiscal year ended March 2020, which only listed “overseas version planned.” However, keep in mind that it could have been for the Traditional Chinese and Korean releases which followed shortly in June 2020. The latest financial report from Koei Tecmo is the first time the title is mentioned for a release specifically in North America and Europe.
In December 2019, Sega filed a logo trademark for Persona 5 Strikers in Japan. The title “Persona 5 Strikers” also appeared in an English earnings report from Nintendo in October 2019. Considering that the title in Japan is “Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers,” this suggested the possibility of Persona 5 Strikers being Atlus’ localized title for the West. There was also a survey question that hinted at localization plans last March.
Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers is currently available in Japan for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
