The Pac-Man series is getting various collaborative goods to commemorate its 40th anniversary, and the latest is Pac-Man sake. The “Pac-Man 40th Anniversary Sake” will release on July 4, 2020. [Thanks, 4Gamer.]
The Pac-Man Japanese sake is the first from the “Game Legend Sake Series” which aims to collaborate with classic game series.
The Pac-Man sake lineup comes in five varieties, with a bottle for Pac-Man and the four ghosts Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde. The bottles will go for 3,000 yen plus tax each.
Furthermore, the Pac-Man sake is collaborating with enka singer Hosokawa Takashi who is celebrating his 45th anniversary since debuting in 1975.
The sake bottles all contain Junmai-shu, a pure-rice sake made from only rice, water, and rice koji. Get a closer look at the bottles below:
- Pac-Man –Â Yellow metallic bottle
- Blinky – Red metallic bottle
- Pinky – Pink metallic bottle
- Inky –Â Sky blue metallic bottle
- Clyde – Orange metallic bottle
- Takahashi Hosokawa & Pac-Man – Original label white frost bottle
Each bottle contains 720 ml of Japanese sake. The bottles will be available for purchase at liquor stores across Japan starting July 4, 2020.
Pac-Man first released in Japan in July 1980 for arcades. For non-alcoholic Pac-Man collaborations, we recently got to see a special 40th anniversary DLC for Minecraft and its very own Tamagotchi.
