People looking for the next big installments in Activision series have a wait ahead. An Activision Blizzard earnings call was held on February 4, 2021. During it, both Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV came up. Unfortunately, according to Daniel “ZhugeEx” Ahmad and Geoff Keighley, they won’t launch in 2021.
Exact details aren’t available for either announcement. However, Ahmad’s report on it offered a hint at a possible release window for one. In his tweet, he mentioned, “Sounds like Overwatch 2 will come in 2022.”
Both Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 were announced at BlizzCon 2019. Since then, Activision Blizzard has been rather quiet about the games. For example, we heard about the Diablo IV boss Ashava that same month. But things have been relatively quiet otherwise.
The company has still regularly been supporting Overwatch, however. For example, its Year of the Ox event is now available until February 25. 2021. It will have a Bounty Hunter brawl and costumes for characters like Ashe, Echo, and Orisa.
The world could always use more… fireworks.
Celebrate with new festive rewards, cosmetics, and the new Bounty Hunter brawl. Overwatch Year of the Ox is NOW LIVE!
