Nintendo revealed the numbers on the 36th and 40th pages of the financial result presentation for the first half of the fiscal year ending March 2022. It counted the numbers of accounts and subscribers up to September 2021.

While counting the countries and regions for Nintendo Accounts, the company also acknowledged that the list also includes areas where it has still yet to establish its game console business. It noted that the accounts in those areas will become a foundation for its future business.

As of this writing, Nintendo is officially supporting the Americas, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea in East Asia. The company recently opened a dedicated website for Singapore on October 5, 2021. It has yet to include Africa and the rest of Asia.

In 2018, Shuntaro Furukawa noted that Nintendo had been focusing on the same regions like Japan, the U.S., and Europe for over thirty years. The company has since added Latin America and East Asia to the supported region list. Furukawa also expressed his desire to expand into more regions like Southeast Asia and the Middle East. However, the areas mentioned above have still yet to gain access to their own Nintendo eShops or Switch Online subscriptions.

People can create new Nintendo Accounts and subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online on the Nintendo Switch console, available immediately worldwide. The company has sold over 92.87 million units as of September 30, 2021.
