Onkyo announced a new pair of wireless earphones featuring Sega Saturn motifs and that play the startup and system sounds of the original console system. The new earphones cost 15,500 yen (or approximately $100) and pre-orders open from the Onkyo online store on December 19, 2024 in Japan.
As a reminder, the Onkyo online store offers international shipping via the third party Buyee service. The earphones themselves are styled after the controller of the Sega Saturn, with the left and right pieces featuring each one half of it. Meanwhile, the case itself looks like the 1994 console.
Additionally, Onkyo is offering a wireless charger platform for the headphones that is styled after a Sega Saturn game disc. Particularly, the font used for the “Wireless Charger” text displayed on it is the same one used for the Virtua Fighter title card that appeared in the first 3 games in the series. The charger costs 4,400 yen (~$28.46.)
