Killing zombies is more fun with a friend, so we’re glad to see Onechanbara Z: Kagura has couch co-op. However, the game does this by dividing the screen into two tiny windows.
Vampire sisters Kagura and Saaya can steal techniques from bosses (a la Mega Man) by soaking up blood after using a finishing move. This attack, called a Heroic Drain, gives the characters Vamp Skills. You can equip three Vamp Skills and change attacks by using Nirvana statues.
Kagura’s Heavy Wave Vamp Skill
Kagura’s Volcano Vamp Skill
Saaya’s Phantom Edge Vamp Skill
Onechanbara Z: Kagura has a practice mode where you can test out combos before facing a zombie horde.
And of course the game has a dress up mode where you can equip decorative items like sunglasses, headphones, and cat ears. Onechanbara Z: Kagura comes out on January 19 in Japan.
