This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

A new One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 trailer and art have been released, and it might have people looking at the game in a whole new way. Bandai Namco worked with Yoko Maki, a known mangaka who has had shojo series appear in magazines like Ribon, offer her take on the characters and situation. The result is a promotional image and trailer that seems to suggest something is going on between Luffy and Big Mom. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

This is the new One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 trailer that offers closer looks at all of Maki’s takes on the iconic pirates… before reminding people what the game is really like.

Here are each of Maki’s takes on the One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 characters. Every single one of them is a playable character in the game, though they definitely don’t look like that there. And yes, that really is Big Mom.

Maki has actually retired as a mangaka, though she was known for multiple series and short story collections. One of her most famous was Aishiteruze Baby, about a high schooler who is a habitual flirt until he ends up being responsible for his neglected and orphaned cousin, Yuzuyu. He then is forced to grow up, while his presence helps her recover and open up again. (Her other notable series were Kirameki no Lion Boy and Romantica Clock.)

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in Japan on March 26, 2020 and to all consoles and the PC worldwide on March 27, 2020.
