Netflix, as part of Geeked Week 2024, shared a One Piece live-action behind-the-scenes video involving Jeff “Buggy the Clown” Ward showing off costumes, props, and sets from season 2. No spoilers appear during the showcase, however. When that sort of footage would appear, it is blurred out in the new trailer.
Things begin with some footage of Ward in costume as Buggy from the first season of the One Piece live-action adaptation before showing what Netflix is doing for season 2. Things begin with Costume Designer Kerry Barnard and Showrunner Matt Owens discussing some of the new outfits. We get to see the storage space where outfits for about 1,000 people are shown. Both ones based on the manga and new ones will appear. This transitions into a brief segment with Hair and Makeup Designer Amanda Ross McDonald to talk about the styles for the series.
After that, it gets into set design for One Piece season 2. There’s a tram shown in the props department with Props Master Egbert Kruger, Ward, and Owens. A gigantic syringe, cannon, and Usopp’s Sniper Goggles appear. Kruger also noted series creator Eiichiro Oda’s art inspired all props and designs.
The video closes out with looks at locations with Production Designer Matt Gottlieb. He shows the exact replica of the Ipponmatsu Arms Shop recreated for season 2 of One Piece, and noted that three shops from the manga were created for the live-action and stocked with appropriate equipment and costumes. Crocus’ Twin Cape Lighthouse also showed up.

Netflix has shared a lot from the series. For example, we know who Miss Wednesday will be. However, Chopper and Baroque Works’ Mr. 0 and Miss All Sunday haven’t been revealed yet.
The first season of the One Piece live-action adaptation is on Netflix now, with season 2 on the way. The anime is on both Netflix and Crunchyroll. Viz Media handles the manga outside of Japan.
