Toei Animation has announced that the One Piece Film: Red has grossed over 20 billion JPY domestically. That would be around $131 million in Hollywood box office numbers.
This number only takes into account how much money it made at the box office. It doesn’t count the money that the movie earned through other revenues, such as online rentals or television broadcasts. Since it came out, One Piece Film: Red has been a highly popular movie.
Within its first month in Japan, it sold over 10 million tickets and was the most-watched movie in 2022. At the time of writing, One Piece Film: Red is the eighth highest-grossing movie in Japanese history. For reference, here are the top 10 highest-grossing films in Japan:

In commemoration, there will be a limited re-release of One Piece Film: Red in Japanese theaters throughout November 2023. There will also be three cheer screenings, in which the audience members are encouraged to participate through cheering, singing, and wotagei. The first cheer screening will take place on November 5, the second on November 12, and the third on November 19, 2023. You can bring in items like pen lights.
