Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Game Will Get a Sonic Costume

Sega announced it will inject some silliness into the otherwise serious Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game. The title made an appearance during the May 27, 2021 Sonic Central stream. In it, Sega showed off a Sonic the Hedgehog mascot costume players can make their characters wear in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 game.

The trailer for the additional item really covered it all. People see a person dressed in the Sonic the Hedgehog costume as they go through many of the events present in the collection. So while everyone else is an ordinary human, Sonic is running, playing baseball, getting slam dunks in Basketball, and scoring goals in soccer.

Here’s the full trailer showing off the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 costume. It also means you can get a better idea of how the Sonic the Hedgehog mascot looks compared to the human characters.

Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game will launch on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia on June 22, 2021 and include a Sonic the Hedgehog mascot costume. In addition, a new Sonic the Hedgehog game from Sonic Team will end up launching on major platforms in 2022.
