Octopath Traveler 2 Demo Confirmed, Save Data Carries Over

During the February 2023 Nintendo Direct, Square Enix confirmed an Octopath Traveler 2 demo is on the way. It will appear on February 8, 2023. It will let people sample every Octopath Traveler 2 character’s story for up to three hours. Also, yes, Octopath Traveler 2 save data does carry over to the full game.

This will let people go through Chapter 1 for each Octopath Traveler 2 character. All eight people appear. You can also take part in both night and day segments, seeing how different abilities and path actions work for different protagonists. However, Osvald will be an exception to the rule. People can see the first two chapters of his story, due to the way the story is laid out. As mentioned before, it will also be possible to save as you play.

Square Enix did something similar with the original Octopath Traveler. It released a prologue demo for it too. Like the sequel’s trial, it allowed someone to go through the first chapter for each storyline.

Octopath Traveler 2 will appear on February 24, 2023 for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC, and the demo is available with save data that carries over to the full game.
