Octopath Traveler 2 Characters Temenos and Throne Introduced

Square Enix took to its official blog and a new trailer to introduce the Octopath Traveler 2 characters Temenos Mistral and Throne Anguis. Temenos is the cleric in this installment. Meanwhile, Throne is the game’s thief. The announcement also went over some critical characters in their storylines.

While a cleric, Temenos is also an Order of the Sacred Flame Inquisitor on assignment in the Crestlands. He was given his role by Pontiff Jorg, and he’s working with the Sanctum Knight Crick to find out what’s going on. He’s voiced by Jordan Dash Cruz, who also played College Murph in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and Shaun in Shadows House.

Some of Temenos’ moveset came up. He can use Guide in the daytime, to recruit an ally to use in a fight. At night, he can Coerce an enemy at night to get information. His Moonlight Judgment Talent blinds characters at night. His Judgment Latent Power can lower enemy Shield Points.

Meanwhile, Throne is a member of the Blacksnakes thieves guild, and she’s one of the Octopath Traveler 2 characters in the Brightlands. Her goal is to get away, dealing with the Blacksnakes leaders Father and Mother as she does. She’ll also work alongside fellow members Pirro and Scaracci. She’s voiced by Erica Mendez, who also played Marielle L. Kenny in Star Ocean: The Divine Force, Bernadetta in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and Ayaka in Genshin Impact.

Like Temenos, Square Enix shared Throne’s Path Actions, Talent, and Latent Power. She can Steal from people during the day and Ambush someone in her way at night. Her Blessing of Darkness Talent is a buff that increases everyone’s attack and speed in a fight. The Leave No Trace Latent Power lets her act twice in a row, with a player choosing each action.

Here’s the new Octopath Traveler 2 trailer looking at the characters Temenos and Throne.

The last two characters revealed were Osvald and Partitio.

Octopath Traveler 2 will appear on the Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC via Steam on February 24, 2023. eShop and PlayStation Store pre-orders are open.
