In an interview with Siliconera last year, Mages president, Chiyomaru Shikura, said that upcoming sci-fi visual novel adventure, Robotics;Notes, was being developed like an anime series.

“We’re aiming to make it close to anime [in the way the story unfolds, or in the way it plays out],” Shikura said to us at the time. “It’s a game where, if you split it into anime episodes, it could fill up about 40 episodes. It would be a great success if we could attract people who have never played visual novels before as well.”

Likely not by coincidence, it turns out that Robotics;Notes will get an actual anime adaptation as well. Japan’s Fuji TV announced at a press conference today that the game will be adapted into an anime series, which will begin airing during the late-night slot this October.

Robotics;Notes, which—like Chaos;Head and Steins;Gate—is being developed by NitroPlus, will be released sometime in June for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
