The report also revealed that over 500,000 Nintendo Switch consoles were sold during Black Friday within the region. In early November 2021, Nintendo disclosed that total sales for the Nintendo Switch surpassed 92.87 million units worldwide. However, this information did not include any potential Switch OLED models sales. Additionally, profits for the company have consistently risen. With Nintendo stating that a large part of its success is due to the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and its explosion in popularity. The report also noted that 43.7% of its total sales were from the North American region.

As of June 2021, Animal Crossing: New Horizons had sold 6,778,146 units in Japan. This has effectively made the title one of the best selling Nintendo Switch games, based on physical release alone. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Pokemon Sword and Shield, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are included in that list.
