Nintendo published a few M rated games like Geist and Eternal Darkness overseas, but not in Japan. Over there Nintendo went up to CERO C (that’s a 15+ game) and those games – Fatal Frame IV and Disaster: Day of Crisis only started shipping in 2008.

Next year, Nintendo will go a step forward with their first CERO D (ESRB M equivalent game) in Japan. It’s called Zangeki no Reginleiv, previously announced as Dynamic Zan at a Nintendo press conference. Sandlot, the team behind the Earth Defense Force series, is the developer.
In Zangeki no Reginleiv players slay monsters, collect over 300 weapons, and backup other players via online play. Zankgeki no Reginleiv supports up to four players and is slated for February 11, 2010.
