People intending to venture out to Nintendo New York in the near future might want to check their watches before going out. Nintendo has announced measures to deal with the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus. The store will now be open from 11am-8pm on weekdays and between 11am-6pm on weekends. In addition, the store will take other measures to help address concerns regarding the spread of the disease.

Some of the measures being taken in Nintendo New York include an improved hygienic approach. It will have “sanitizing wipes” at demo stations to keep them clean and have “deep cleaning services” in effect to keep the store clean.

Other precautions have to do with people. Quarantines are being advised for employees who visited “high-risk areas” recently. Events have been canceled.

Here’s the full announcement.

Nintendo New York isn’t the only Nintendo store to experience reduced hours to help deal with the potential spread of COVID-19. Nintendo Tokyo has also cut back its hours. Back on March 2, 2020, it revealed that it would only be open from 11am-8pm, rather than 10am-9pm. It also noted at that time that the hours were expected to return to normal after March 15, 2020.

Nintendo didn’t note how long the Nintendo New York reduced hours will be in effect.
