The October issue of Japanese magazine Nintendo Dream released earlier this week on August 21, and the latest issue hints at a feature next issue on a new game coming to Nintendo Switch “that everyone will enjoy.” The next issue of Nintendo Dream is set to release on September 19, 2020. (Thanks, Nintendo Everything!)
Apart from this small tease that hints towards the sort of audience the new game might be geared towards, not much else is known regarding the game. It should also be noted that the way the term was worded in Japanese, “みんなが喜ぶスイッチタイトル初出し,” could be singular or plural. That said, here are some other interesting Nintendo-related dates in September that might be related to the unrevealed game(s):
- September 13: Mario series 35th anniversary
- September 16: Nintendo Management Briefing Session (No new products or services to be announced)
Given the amount of Mario anniversary-related rumors, it’s possible that news on something Mario-related may be coming. That said, the tease might not necessarily be a big title. Last issue teased “a first look at a surprising game,” which seems to have been Pikmin 3 Deluxe, a port of the Wii U title for Nintendo Switch. Given that the tease only talks about the audience the game is for, and not the scale of the game, it’s best to keep expectations in check for now.
