Nintendo wants to sell more downloadable 3DS games and has a plan to sell more prepaid cards. Well, at least in Japan. Prepaid point cards also include an AR card for Photo Together with Super Mario. This downloadable 3DS app lets players take photos with Mario and other characters from the Mushroom Kingdom.
The 1,000 yen card has the Goomba AR card, the 2,000 yen card has Super Mario, and the 3,000 yen card has Princess Peach. The prepaid card and Photo Together with Super Mario AR card packs come out on April 23 in Japan.
You can put AR cards together and characters will interact with each other. For example, Mario will stomp on the Goomba.
Cards for a Koopa Troopa (1,000 yen), Luigi (2,000 yen), and Bowser (3,000 yen) will be released at a later date.
