Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Switch color in Japan: a coral Switch Lite. It is priced at ¥19,980 (roughly 180 USD) and will be available on March 20th, the same day as Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The coral Switch Lite is the fourth Switch Lite color variant, joining the Grey, Turquoise, and Banana Yellow models. Last year, the line also received a limited edition Pokemon Sword and Shield version which featured legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta and featured raspberry pink and blue buttons. However, this new Switch will have the same white button layout as as the regular edition consoles.

Given that Nintendo has recently talked about expanding the Switch’s appeal to broader audiences (including women), the coral Switch Lite being released alongside Animal Crossing: New Horizons makes sense. That series famously enjoys a large female audience, and the coral Switch Lite along with the the recently-announced Animal Crossing-themed Switch will help put the device in the hands of that crowd.

Additionally, despite recent news about Nintendo Switch shortages owing to the Coronavirus outbreak in China, Nintendo says on its website that the coral Switch Lite will be readily available in March when it launches, as production on the first batch of units wrapped in January. The system will go up for pre-order on March 7th.
