The Yoyogi Animation Academy, also known as Yoani, announced that it will collaborate with Nijisanji owner Anycolor to provide Vtuber classes. The inauguration of this new Virtual Talent Academy aims to teach and foster the next generations of Vtubers.
Yoani advertises the new Vtuber classes as a course that combines the animation and entertainment expertise of Yoani with Anycolor’s experience as the owners of Nijisanji to provide the essential education needed to “succeed as a Vtuber,” instead of lessons to “become a Vtuber.” Anycolor will help in supervising the curriculum of the course.
Some of the skills and benefits that participants of the course will experience include talking skills, planning and analysis, thumbnail production, singing skill, character voices, let’s play skills, applied use of Social Networking Services, self-promotion, and promoting industry connections.
Additionally, to commemorate the inauguration of the new course, Yoani will provide a tuition discount of 100,000 yen (or approximately $700) for students enrolling in the upcoming April 2024 course.
The Yoyogi Animation Academy is the oldest animation school in Japan, having opened its doors in 1979. The academy has campuses in Chiyoda and Ikebukuro (Tokyo,) Osaka, and Fukuoka. The animation department offers animator, animation background art, and animation producer and director courses, while the creator department distinguishes between illustration and manga courses.
In other Nijisanji news, the company revealed on November 2023 that Tachitsute Toto, Shioriha Ruri, and Milan Kestrel are three new members of the main branch of Nijisanji. In addition, Nijisanji announced that Vtubers Yuki Chihiro and Azuchi Momo will graduate at the end of January 2024.
