We’re still not exactly sure how the upgraded title will be different from a remaster or remake, but the developers recently shared their thoughts on that. To give you the basic idea, it started to feel like a lot more work for a simple remaster. However, since there are elements such as event scenes having the exact same camera work from the original game, it isn’t quite a remake in the eyes of the creators.

In other related news, we recently learned that NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 will feature brand-new music as well as extended songs. The game will feature more songs as well as re-recorded versions of the original songs by composer Keiichi Okabe.

NieR Replicant is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.  NieR Gestalt and NieR Replicant first released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in April 2010. The game recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. Check out the official website here.
