Here’s Matsukawa’s full statement. In addition to the update on the localization process, there’s a promise that the launch will include various fixes.

NieR Reincarnation Director Daichi Matsukawa here. My apologies for the lack of updates—please allow me to explain the current development status of the English version of NieR Reincarnation to those who are awaiting its release in North America and Europe.

We are currentl in the process of localizing the English version and recording all character voices in English. We also plan to fix bugs following the game’s Japanese release so we can launch the English version in tip-top shape.

Once dates are confirmed for pre-registration and launch, we will send out another announcement to let everyone know.

I apologize again for the long wait and any inconvenience this may cause, and ask for your understanding and patience.

NieR Reincarnation’s Japanese launch is drawing nearer. It will show up on Android and Apple iOS devices there on February 18, 2021. The last broadcast for the game showed off its opening movie. A NieR Reincarnation global version is also on the way.
