Square Enix revealed that a Drakengard 3 crossover event is coming to NieR Reincarnation, adding the protagonist Zero and her companion Mikhail to the game as limited-time characters. In addition, there will also be special crossover costumes. The event starts on October 7, 2021, and ends on an unspecified date.
Details regarding what the global version of the game will receive in the event are scarce. However, Square Enix uploaded an English teaser trailer for the upcoming crossover event giving fans a glimpse into Zero and Mikhail’s appearance in NieR Reincarnation. As in Drakengard 3, Zero dedicates her time to killing Intoners and wears her outfit from the original game. She’s accompanied by a smaller Otomo version of Mikhail who helps out by shooting fireballs at the enemy.
The crossover event appeared in Japan back in May under the name Drag-on Dragoon 3, the Japanese title for Drakengard 3. The crossover ran for about a month and featured a new collaboration quest as well as collectible “Dragon Medals,” which could be exchanged for the two collaboration characters. Players could also exchange the medals for upgrade materials and items.
Notably, the event gacha banner also included new limited-time costumes for Zero, Fio, and Akeha. Players received a damage bonus and additional Dragon Medals upon completing the collaboration quests.
