NieR: Automata Xbox Game Pass PC Is a Fixed Become As Gods Version

The NieR: Automata Xbox Game Pass PC version is based on the Become as Gods edition of the game, rather than the Game of the Yorha edition. As such, people on sites like  Resetera and the Steam Discussions board have discovered it features fixes not present in the Game of the Yorha Steam PC release. QLOC later shared on Facebook that it added “borderless video setting, FidelityFX, HDR, and 4K UI textures”. [Thanks, Wario64!]

People reported a number of changes present in the Xbox Game Pass version of the game. For example, a common consensus among reports so far is that this version of NieR: Automata eliminates the need for Kaldaien’s Fix Automata Resolution (FAR) mod. That helped some people with issues regarding its framerate, resolution, and stuttering during cutscenes. The NieR: Automata Xbox Game Pass version also has a FidelityFX CAS setting.

As a reminder, this isn’t the first time a Square Enix Xbox Game Pass PC game offered different features and improvements. The Steam version of Final Fantasy VII doesn’t have elements like the included 3x speed mode, battle enhancement mode to replenish help, and random battle shut off, like some console versions did. However, the Windows Edition available with Xbox Game Pass offered all three features.

NieR: Automata is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and its Become as Gods edition is part of Xbox Game Pass on PCs.
