NieR: Automata hit a new hallmark. The official Twitter account for the series announced the latest figures for the game. If you’ve been keeping track over the years, it shouldn’t be a surprise that NieR: Automata sales and shipments passed five million.
Square Enix offered regular updates on the game’s progress over the years. It originally debuted back in February 2017 on the PlayStation 4. In April 2017, we learned NieR: Automata sales and shipments passed one million worldwide. By May 2017, it hit the 1.5 million mark. 2.5 million were reached in March 2018. By May 2019, the four million milestone had been hit. And, as 2020 began, it reached 4.5 million shipments and digital sales by March.
For those who aren’t among those five million, there are ways to join the their ranks more affordably at the moment. NieR: Automata is a part of multiple 2020 holiday sales, which means it is temporarily 50% off. This means you could get a digital copy via the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, or Steam for your Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC for $19.99. It is the special edition that includes extra add-ons like the 3C3C1D119440927 DLC.
NieR: Automata is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
