Square Enix is now taking orders for smartphone rings that channel two familiar elements from NieR: Automata and NieR Replicant. Each one is a metal ring that acts as both a grip and a stand and attaches to the back of a phone. Both will cost $21.99 and are expected to ship in May 2021.
The Black Box one looks like the items in each YoRHa android. It is two inches by three inches and can attach to any sort of back. It can also rotate after being attached, for more comfortable grips and positioning.
As for the Emil NieR Replicant smartphone ring, it is a circular accessory. Emil’s face is surrounded by script from the game. Like the Black Box ring, it also can be rotated into different directions for better ease of use.
These are only two of multiple items inspired by the series on the way. During an April 19, 2021 broadcast, new figures and Nendoroids were revealed. There will also be a cafe in Japan with additional merchandise sold.
Both NieR smartphone rings will launch in May 2021. NieR: Automata is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. NieR Replicant will come to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide on April 23, 2021.
