The Good Smile Company has been releasing Nintendo-inspired Nendoroids for a while now. There have been three Pokemon Nendoroids so far, with a generic trainer, N, and Cynthia released. In July 2016, they’ll be joined by a new Pokemon Nendoroid set that includes Red and Green, familiar to some as Ash and Gary Oak, in honor of the Pokemon series’ 20th anniversary. (Note: The Nendoroids were originally referred to as Ash and Gary Oak in the article, as those were among the default names for the characters in the localized versions of Pokemon Red and Blue.)
The Red and Green Nendoroid set will include two figures, which are known in Japan as “Red” and “Green.” Each one will have two face plates, multiple hand parts, and a few foot parts. The Pokemon included with this pair is Mew, whose head, tail, and feet will be movable. There will also be a Pokeball and backpack for Red.
Pre-orders for the Pokemon Red and Green Nendoroid set will begin on February 27, 2016, in Japan, and they will end on March 31, 2016. The set will be released on July 9, 2016. The two together will cost ¥7,500 (~$64). No announcement has been made concerning a worldwide release. However, the previous Pokemon Nendoroids all eventually appeared in the Pokemon Center.
