New Zenless Zone Zero Character Astra Yao Gets Her Own Social Media Account

HoYoVerse opened a social media account for Astra Yao, a new Zenless Zone Zero character teased in the 2024 The Game Awards trailer for the mobile game. It also marked her release date in the game in images and descriptions on the page. It noted we’ll see her on January 22, 2024, which is when the 1.5 update arrives. HoYoVerse had the official Zenless Zone Zero account follow this one, lending to its authenticity. The current Asaba Harumasa and Hoshimi Miyabi banners both run until January 21, 2024.

The first post on Astra’s account involved a photo of her telling her fans she loves them and saying people can find updates on her next performance there. This featured an official “note” in front of her piano.

On December 15, 2024, a video appeared on the account. It featured a 32-second clip of Astra “playing” one of her new songs on a piano.

While the character isn’t playable in the game yet, we can see her. She appears following the 1.4 update at certain segments ahead of her actual debut.

Astra Yao isn’t the only new character we will see in Zenless Zone Zero in the 1.5 update. HoYoVerse teased the second one. It’s Evelyn Chevalier. She’s actually tied to Astra and a part of the same faction, as she works as Astra’s bodyguard and manager. She also seems to be counted among the singer’s friends, as one of the most recent posts on the account references Astra cooking for her and Snap.

Zenless Zone Zero is available on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices. The next update is 1.5, and it will drop on January 22, 2025. That is also when we’ll see Astra appear.
