Last night, Nintendo revealed another set of downloadable Coin Rush stages for New Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan, via a mini Nintendo Direct. The DLC stages include six remade stages from the original NES Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3.

This morning, Nintendo also confirmed the DLC stages for a U.S. and European release via an English mini Nintendo Direct, along with price details for the U.S.. You can have your dose of Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, in the video embedded above.

Iwata says over 300 billion coins have been collected in New Super Mario Bros. 2 worldwide, across all of the game’s players. As as show of appreciation, the latest DLC will be made available for free for a limited time—November 27th to January 31st. Starting February 1st, the DLC pack will be made available for purchase for $2.50.

Iwata also says that the new DLC stages are based on user feedback. Nintendo have observed feedback from several players asking for remakes of older stages, which is why stages like 1-1 from the original Super Mario Bros. are part of this DLC pack.
