New Pokemon Unite Tournament Mode Announced

There are two big updates for Pokemon Unite. Each one gets competitive in its own way. First, Timi Studio is working on a new Pokemon Unite tournament mode. In addition, the game will be among the games at the 2022 Pokemon World Championships. Producer Masaaki Hoshino discussed both in a new update.

First, there are few details about how the new Pokemon Unite tournament mode will work. However, it is designed to be a more “fair” experience. Hoshino noted it will “even the playing field for competitors, regardless of their held item grades.” There’s no launch date for it yet.

However, we do know when the 2022 Pokemon World Championships will be held. Those will take place in London in August 2022. Pokemon Unite players throughout the year will be able to take their teams through a competitive season for a chance to participate in the finals. There will also be a Pokemon GO Championship Series, Pokken Tournament DX, and the Pokemon Trading Card Game will also all be there.

Finally, more languages are coming in 2022. Brazilian Portuguese, Hindi, Russian, Thai, and Turkish were confirmed in the announcement.

Pokemon Unite is available on the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. Most recently, Dragonite appeared as a playable character.
