A new Pokemon-themed plane featuring Wailord will be hitting the skies from May 30, 2022. The official name is the Pikachu Jet BC2, following up from the first Pikachu Jet that appeared in June 2021. Aside from Wailord, the Pikachu Jet BC2 will also feature Pikachu, Magikarp, and Shaymin in its Sky Forme. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
So far, Pikachu Jet BC2 will have two scheduled flights, both taking place on May 30, 2022. More information on in-flight services, as well as future flights, will appear in the future. The first trip it will take (SKY519) will be from Haneda to Naha. This flight will depart at 15:35 (3:35 PM) JST and arrive at 18:20 (6:20 PM). After that, it will fly from Naha to Fukuoka (SKY508), departing at 19:15 (7:15 PM) and arriving at 21:00 (9:00 PM).
Pikachu Jet BC and Pikachu Jet BC2 are both planes from Skymark. Skymark is not the only company with Pokemon-themed planes. For example, Air Do released a Rokon Jet featuring Vulpix in December 2021. While Air Do chose Vulpix because of the company’s Hokkaido roots and Vulpix’s status as leader of the Hokkaido Aficionado Expedition, it is unclear why Skymark chose these four particular Pokemon for its plane.
The Pokemon-themed Pikachu Jet BC2 will launch on May 30, 2022, with two domestic flights within Japan.
