Popularly known with its Japanese abbreviated title DanMachi, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? originated as a light novel written by Fujino Omori and first published in January 2013. It tells the story of Bell Cranel, a solo adventurer working under the Hestia Familia, an exploration group led by the goddess Hestia. While the title also received a manga adaptation in August 2013, its popularity soared even further after the first anime season aired in April 2015.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? will have the fourth anime season air in 2022. There’s a console game based on DanMachi, titled Infinite Combate, a dungeon crawler RPG immediately available worldwide on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The franchise also has a mobile game titled Memoria Freese that launched worldwide on iOS and Android devices.
