Three new features are specifically highlighted in the teaser trailer. First, there will be a Buddies: Face Camera option. If someone presses a button, any Palamutes and Palicos with you will turn to face the camera. On the Switch, this will be the left trigger.

Next, the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak photo mode will allow people to hide the UI. The video shows what it looks like with and without the UI there. The example features a hunter standing with Chichae, the new quest damsel for the expansion.

Finally, the video shows off the ability to have characters in the photo face the camera. On the Switch, pressing the – button will cause your hunter and any NPCs around to turn and pose.

Here’s the full Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak photo mode video.

Monster Hunter Rise is available for the Nintendo Switch and PC, and the Sunbreak expansion will arrive on June 30, 2022.
