A new Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha manga project is in production, with Shuichi Kawakami returning to work on it. The manga series will appear on Kodansha’s Wednesday Sirius. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
Shuichi Kawakami previously worked on Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Innocent. This will be his first serialization since Innocent, and he stated on X (formerly Twitter) that he would pour all of his energy into this new series. There is no information on the name, main character, or chronology for the new manga series, but more information will appear on the official X account for the series.
As well, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the show, a special program will air on December 28, 2024. The program will be a celebratory episode of Mikako’s Room, which previously appeared on home releases like Blu-Rays. Yukari Tamura (Nanoha) and Nana Mizuki (Fate) will appear on the episode as well, and the three of them will look back on the show’s history and share new information.
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha first started airing in 2004, and had some unique twists to the typical magical girl genre. For example, much of the magic on the show is combined with technology. There are multiple shows in the series, showing Nanoha and her rival Fate meet, become friends, and later join the Time-Space Administration Bureau.
You can watch Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha on Amazon Prime.
