The Sanrio characters x Junji Ito crossover is continuing with a new figure that is based on the Gyaru Tomie with Hello Kitty design. A painted prototype appeared at Good Smile Fest 2026. It consisted of a look at the character that appeared in multiple horror manga and movies from the side.

This image is based on Sanrio characters x Junji Ito art and merchandise that we’ve seen for quite some time at events like pop-up stores. While Hello Kitty doesn’t appear as an individual, Tomie is wearing a number of items referencing her and carrying accessories based on the famous cat. For example, she has a red bow in her hair and has the red bow on her socks, phone, and bag. She also has a Hello Kitty charm on her phone, another attached to her bag, and stickers with the character on her bag and earrings.

Here’s the first photo of the painted prototype. While it looks unpainted, that’s just due to many of the Good Smile Company Junji Ito figures using a greyscale approach. (This happened with the Uzumaki Kirie Nendoroid.) The photo also shows that the stand will resemble Hello Kitty’s bow too.

The Junji Ito x Sanrio characters figure of gyaru Tomie with Hello Kitty accessories is in development, and there’s no release date yet. However, since she is at the painted prototype phase, we should see pre-orders open in the next few weeks.
