Bethesda announced it will share news about Starfield in a video trailer series called “Into the Starfield.” The first installment is immediately available. In it, Art Director Matt Carofano, Game Director Todd Howard, and Studio Director Angela Browder all discuss the game’s direction and development. As they do, concept art and elements of the game are shown.
One of the things Carofano emphasized about Starfield in this trailer is the focus on realism in the game. He noted, “It’s got a more realistic, science-based backing to it. Whereas Skyrim is sort of an epic fantasy, this is a more grounded game and a grounded setting about exploration. So I think that gives us a different take on how we make everything. So that’s the sort of thing you latch onto when we’re making new areas, making environments, making characters.”
Browder elaborated further on Starfield’s background. She noted, “I also think that because it’s based in a more realistic atmosphere you have a lot of people on our team who are super into certain things, like robotics or engineering. And they can use this lifetime of knowledge they have gathered and then use it in their work.
Here’s the first “Into the Starfield: The Endless Pursuit” trailer discussing the game.
Starfield will come to the Xbox Series X and PC on November 11, 2022.
