New Gear 5 Luffy Figures Will Double as Item Holders

Banpresto revealed a new lineup of figures based on Gear 5 Luffy from One Piece that can also double as item holders. These three FigLife figures will be gradually available as crane game prizes in Japanese arcade centers throughout Q3 2024.

The first figure will have Luffy twirl his right arm to act as a pen holder. The owner will also be able to use it to store another similarly-sized item, such as a toothbrush or scissors. The upcoming second figure will have him raise a “stone slab” where the owner can place their smartphone vertically. The third figure will feature Luffy’s head with an open mouth, and the owner can insert small items like paper clips there.

Here are the sample images for each figure in the collection:

There have been more Gear 5 Luffy figures released in the past, although most of them only appeared for decorative purposes. One such example was a World Collectable Figure with the One Piece Emotion logo, which was exclusively available by purchasing tickets for the exhibition that ran in May 2024.

The One Piece Gear 5 Monkey D. Luffy FigLife figure that doubles as a pen holder will be available first at crane games in arcade centers across Japan from July 17, 2024. Banpresto will gradually release the other two Gear 5 Luffy figures in August 2024 and September 2024, respectively.
