Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will feature a new story that hasn’t been seen before. It’s set to be a prequel about Sephiroth, a “young hero” before he became the villain we know him as now. This had been teased in previous trailers. This storyline also features new characters like Glenn.

In addition to the Sephiroth story, the new Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis story trailer showed off various retold scenes from previous games, such as the infiltration of Mako Reactor 1 from the start of Final Fantasy VII. The trailer also teases new scenes from perspectives we haven’t seen before, such as a scene where Tifa and Jessie are comforting each other and one where Aerith is praying to her mother while imprisoned in the Shinra Building.

Previously, Square Enix revealed snippets from the soundtrack of Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis. The tracks previewed were remixes of “Main Theme of FFVII” and “Fight On!” made exclusively for the new game.

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will release on September 7, 2023 for mobile devices.
