Sen-Ti-Nel announced the release of a new Evangelion RIOBOT figure of the Eva Unit-01 that turns the iconic mech into an armored samurai. The figure costs 33,000 yen (or approximately $234.65) and is set to release in Japan on February 28, 2025. [Thanks, Inside!]
The figure is available for pre-order until September 17, 2024 from Amazon Japan, which offers international shipping. The new Eva Unit-01 figure sees Shinji Ikari’s signature mech turned into a samurai warrior wielding a katana. The general purple and green color scheme remain, while including some red accents in the form of a belt around the mech’s waist and the back. Golden details are also included in the form of the mech’s horn as well as armor details.
Additionally, the two pylons on the back of the mech include short wakizashi blades. The figure sees the robot wearing different shoulder as well as chest and waist armor plates, alongside samurai armor shin guards, and zori Japanese straw sandals.

As a reminder, the Evangelion Crossing Expo is currently undergoing at the Roppongi Museum in Tokyo, Japan until October 22, 2024. The expo features over 4,000 pieces of Evangelion merchandise on display.
