It is time to start reading and writing poetry again. 2020 will be the year of something new to do with Doki Doki Literature Club. While there won’t be a sequel, developer Dan Salvato announced that new Doki Doki Literature Club “content” is on the way, specifically using “DDLC” to refer to the game.
Here’s the tweet going over the Doki Doki Literature Club announcement of a possible announcement.
This will be the year I reclaim my happiness so I can deliver it to others! My goal is to fully return to doing things I enjoy, such as making games. First releasing new DDLC content (not a sequel), then blowing the dust off my next original VN which has been on hold for 2 years.

Salvato didn’t specifically mention what the Doki Doki Literature Club content could be. While the visual novel is free-to-play, a $9.99 fan pack was released with 8 wallpapers, a 24-track soundtrack, and a digital art booklet.
Doki Doki Literature Club is a totally normal visual novel about a young man who joins his school’s Literature Club. After being recruited by its president, Monika, he has the opportunity to get to know the three other members, Natsuki, Sayori, and Yuri. As you read their poetry and write your own, you’ll get closer to each one, forming relationships with each possible love interest.
Doki Doki Literature Club is available for PCs.
