New Digimon Manga Reportedly Written by Award Winners

A new Digimon manga series is reportedly in development and will be written by various Digimon Comic Award 2023 participants and prize recipients. There are four issues planned for the new series, and there is no information regarding the price yet. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]

Leaker ryokutya2089 reported that the first issue of the new Digimon manga series is planned for an August 10, 2024 release, with the second issue coming out sometime in November 2024. No information has been given on which magazine or online platform the manga will appear. One of the artists featured in the new manga series includes Okutsuwa Waga, author of the Digimon Bloom: Will the Digital Flower Fall? one-shot and Digimon Comic Award Grand Prize runner-up.

Additionally, other feature artists include honorable mention recipients 20 Years a Samurai one-shot author Soda Ichigo and Digital Monster – Children:Code author Ayumu Minato, as well as final candidate and Digimon Daybreaker author Kariki Hajime, among others. Popular Japanese manga artista Ten’ya Yabuno, who has worked on a variety of Digimon manga and anime series in the past, will also participate in the new series.

The aforementioned manga one-shots are available to read for free on the Digimon Comic Award official website, although they are only available in Japanese and there is no official English translation available.

As a reminder, 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of the release of the original Digimon Adventure anime series, and an anniversary exhibition will be held in Japan between August 10-25, 2024.
