Neptunia 10th Anniversary Digital Event Coming on August 19, 2020

Idea Factory International has sent out a “save the date” notice on Twitter. August 19, 2020 will mark the tenth birthday of the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. As such a Neptunia 10th Anniversary Digital Event will apparently be held worldwide to celebrate.

Here’s the tweet. There’s no time set for the presentation yet. The image noted that on August 19th, people may want to make time to see a digital event. (Also, IF is there holding some balloons.)

The original Hyperdimension Neptunia game appeared in Japan on the PlayStation 3 on August 19, 2010. It introduced Neptune, a console goddess inspired by a Sega console that never ended up existing, and collection of other console goddesses and lands in Gamindustri inspired by consoles and handhelds.

In addition to four mainline games, the most recent of which is about to make its Nintendo Switch debut, there have been spin-offs like Neptunia Virtual Stars and anime OVAs.

Megadimension Neptunia VII Switch will arrive on July 28, 2020 outside Japan. Neptunia Virtual Stars will come to the PlayStation 4 in Japan on August 6, 2020 and the rest of the world in 2021. Idea Factory International’s Neptunia 10th Anniversary event will be held on August 19, 2020.
