Scrap revealed Nazomonogatari, a new escape room game that will have players solve riddles while interacting with the game’s world and characters. Players will take the role of the series protagonist Araragi, who will also get to interact with heroines from Monogatari series entries like Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari. This game will be temporarily available online for a year from early June 2024.
Most of the prior escape room games based on franchises like Evangelion and Chainsaw Man were held at physical venues in Japan. Scrap will distinguish this game by making it available exclusively online.
People will be able to access it via the newest version of Google Chrome browser on PCs and mobile devices. The company added that it will not restrict internet access from outside Japan, although it will not provide customer support to those residing outside the country nor add more languages other than Japanese.
To gain access to the game, people will first have to pay 2,800 yen (~$18). Afterward, Scrap will send them the game’s URL link. The company will also sell physical packages at varying prices.
The regular edition will cost 3,200 yen (~$20.40), and there will also be bonus editions with extra merchandise based on each of the five heroines—Hitagi, Nadeko, Mayoi, Suruga, and Tsubasa—for 7,000 yen (~$44.70) apiece. Scrap will also sell a complete physical package containing items from all heroines at 22,000 yen (~$140.40).
Scrap has also uploaded a commercial video for the game on its YouTube channel:
