Namco Bandai is the king of licensed video games in Japan with a constant stream of Naruto, Dragon Ball, and Gundam anime tie-ins. Earlier this year, Namco Bandai started working with Disney and developed Disney Magic Castle: My Happy Life for Nintendo 3DS, which sold over a quarter million units in Japan.
In addition to Disney Magic Castle, Namco Bandai will bring Disney Infinity to Japan, but only for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Disney also carries Namco Bandai’s new Pac-Man series, Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures in the US.
Disney games are often licensed to other publishers for Japan. Spike Chunsoft, known for Virtue’s Last Reward, will publish Epic Mickey 2 and before that Namco Bandai published Every Extend Extra which was actually a Disney funded game published by Buena Vista Games in the West.
