Publisher aNCHOR announced the development of a new smartphone game, Project Immortal (tentative), based on the Muv-Luv adventure game series.
The project started thanks to a tweet from a Muv-Luv fan, Kitakuou. He wanted to make a game for the series and his passion caught the attention of series author Yoshimune Kouki. From there, he took on the proposition to present his project during the âge 20th anniversary event last October.
You can check out gameplay from the presentation starting at the 8:56 mark of the video. When asked if the footage was in real-time or recording, Kitakuou said it was all real-time since recording a video would have been more a pain to do. The footage is from an earlier build but we’ll see more bullets and enemies on the screen later. Kitakuou also mentioned that he’s making it as an action game and RTS hybrid. He wanted to make a Muv-Luv game with mechs but instead of something like Armored Core, he went with something that could be easier for everyone to enjoy.

Project Immortal is an action RPG based on the original Muv-Luv PC game series released in 2003. Players can choose popular characters and TSFs from the original series, as they fight off hordes of BETA, the enemies of mankind.
Project Immortal was born from a tweet posted by a young Muv-Luv fan, Kitakuou. Seeing his passion to create a Muv-Luv game, Yoshimune Kouki, the series author, made a proposition to Kitakuou to present his project at the âge 20th Anniversary event that was held on the October 22, 2019. Winning the support of many users and staff, the project was discussed with Muv-Luv general producer tororo, and Project Immortal has now been formally greenlit as a collaborative project between Kitakuou and aNCHOR.
