The project started thanks to a tweet from a Muv-Luv fan, Kitakuou. He wanted to make a game for the series and his passion caught the attention of series author Yoshimune Kouki. From there, he took on the proposition to present his project during the âge 20th anniversary event last October.

You can check out gameplay from the presentation starting at the 8:56 mark of the video. When asked if the footage was in real-time or recording, Kitakuou said it was all real-time since recording a video would have been more a pain to do. The footage is from an earlier build but we’ll see more bullets and enemies on the screen later. Kitakuou also mentioned that he’s making it as an action game and RTS hybrid. He wanted to make a Muv-Luv game with mechs but instead of something like Armored Core, he went with something that could be easier for everyone to enjoy.
