Today, Bandai Namco announced that they are bringing back Mr. Driller on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam with a port of Mr. Driller DrillLand, which originally released on Nintendo GameCube. This is the second Encore re-release of past classic Namco games onto Switch, after Katamari Damacy Rerolled. (The JP name for Mr. Driller DrillLand is Mr. Driller Encore)

Like other Mr. Driller games, the point of the game is to drill through blocks and try to reach the bottom of the stage, while making sure you don’t run out of oxygen or accidentally crush yourself. This particular game takes place in a theme park that has five “attractions”, each themed with different gimmicks, including one that is themed after another classic Namco arcade game, “Hole of Druaga” (Tower of Druaga).

While the game was only glanced over in the English Nintendo Direct, the Japanese Nintendo Direct mini showed off a bit more of the game, which you can check out below:

Mr. Driller DrillLand will release for the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on June 25, 2020. The game is immediately available on Nintendo Gamecube.
