Capcom’s update doesn’t provide too many details. At the very bottom of the game’s dedicated website, it confirms Resident Evil Village news is about two months away with a “Next update coming August 2020.” It doesn’t explain anything about what that update entails. Though, the information below that does also confirm it is a single-player adventure.

While we will have to wait for additional reveals, there has been quite a bit to look at since Resident Evil 8 was announced. More screenshots were shared immediately after the June 11, 2020 announcement, giving us a closer look at Chris Redfield. Also, the different scenes and elements shared in Capcom’s Special Developer Message video offered a look at the currency Ethan will collect. This is important, because the sort of money he is using suggests the titular village is in Romania.

Resident Evil Village will come to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2021, though the official website does note that this is a tentative release window.
