Monster Strike developer XFlag’s latest game, the 3D battle sports action title Mobile Ball, has been confirmed to be cancelled as of today. The game was announced during the September 2018 Nintendo Direct for Nintendo 3DS and mobile. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Here’s a reminder of what it looks like:

The game played somewhat similarly to Rocket League, and would have unique characters with different abilities. Up to six players would participate in one match in 3v3 team versus gameplay. In the reveal trailer, it was mentioned that there would be crossplay between the 3DS and mobile versions.

According to XFlag, the game was cancelled as it did not reach the level of quality it was aiming for. Sadly, this means it loses its chance of nabbing the title of being the final game released for the Nintendo 3DS.

Mobile Ball was in development for Nintendo 3DS and iOS/Android, but is now cancelled.
