Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX Nintendo Switch and PC Version Announced

Both games will feature several quality of life updates.

Koei Tecmo announced that Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX will arrive on the Nintendo Switch and PC through the Steam storefront. The scheduled release date for Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX is December 9, 2021. Additionally, this version will come with several new features. This includes the option to access the sound effects from the original release and the addition of high-speed mode.

This version was announced through the official Monster Rancher Twitter account, with more details readily available through a new website. Other features that will appear in these versions of Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX include the addition of monsters that were previously exclusive to overseas versions of the game, the mentioned high-speed mode, an activity memo, more monster slots, and more save slots. Additionally, a battle ranking feature will be available in this version of the game.

A special 25th anniversary collector’s edition is also available to pre-order. This version will cost 15,070 yen, or roughly $136. However, the product will only be shipped if a certain number of orders are met. That said, Koei Tecmo has listed what the special collector’s edition will come with. This includes:

  • Golden Mochi figure with serial number
  • Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX Soundtrack
  • Monster Rancher development materials
  • Tecmo TMP Booklet Vol.2021

Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX will release for the Nintendo Switch and PC through the Steam storefront on December 9, 2021 to Japanese audiences. A potential Western release has yet to be announced.
